Prague (Czechia), 23-24 June 2022 Representatives of IOM and UCT (University of Chemistry and Technology, Department of Metals and Corrosion Engineering, Prague) discussed problems related to test work on the project Deep sea nodules – water evaporation experiment. The drying test of polymetallic nodules was performed in a special climatic chamber, simulating the given air temperature and humidity conditions.
The IOM delegation took the opportunity to get aquatinted with the scope of chemical research carried out at UCT and to explore possibilities for further cooperation in the analysis of trace metal concentrations in seawater. The organizational aspect of the IOM 2022 and 2024 training progamme were also discussed.
