Szczecin (Poland) The 73rd Council of the Interoceanmetal Joint Organization took place in Szczecin (Poland) on 25-29 November 2019, with the participation of plenipotentiary representatives and delegates of the IOM Member States (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Russia and Slovakia). The Council meeting was chaired by Mr Andrei Gagelganc.
The participants discussed several topics relating to the activities of the IOM, including financial, organizational, legal and scientific issues. The General Director’s Report on the IOM’s Activities between the 72nd and 73rd Councils was approved, and the work and budget plan for 2020 was agreed, taking into account the plenipotentiary representatives’ recommendations. One of the key aims of the meeting was to develop the IOM’s common strategy for future activities and define the main directions of development.Moreover, the representatives approved the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation with the International Hydrographic Organization.
In accordance with the IOM’s internal regulations, the next Council meeting is due to take place in June 2020.
