Meeting with CVMR

Toronto (Canada)  From 24 to 27 January 2019, IOM’s General Director Tomasz Abramowski payed a technical visit at the CVMR company. Engaged in mining and metallurgical processing of metals and metal ores, the CVMR company is the owner of the carbonyl technology (http://www.cvmr.ca). The patented technology is used for metal extraction, especially of high purity metal powders, e.g. nickel.

The meeting was held with the view of CVMR cooperation with Interoceanmetal in the scope of ore extraction for metallurgical processing and employment of carbonyl technology in metallurgical processing of polymetallic nodules. Attended by Kamran Khozan, CEO of CVMR, and Tomasz Abramowski, IOM’s General Director, the meeting discussed possibilities for further cooperation within which the carbonyl technology would be included in the IOM’s activity plans and economical models. CVMR declared cooperation for providing the relevant data. CVMR has already tested, at its own cost, processing of nodules delivered by IOM. Possible fields of cooperation within the framework of Horizon 2020 programme were also considered, those included the possibility of performing metallurgical processing on board of an mining support vessel.
